When The Ground Shifts Below You
There are moments in life that change everything.
- A diagnosis
- A loss
- A divorce
- An accident
- A sudden ending you didn’t choose
These are life quakes—the times that shake us to the core. Our old life doesn’t fit, and a new one isn’t clear. We feel lost between different versions of ourselves.
We ask:
- Who am I?
- What do I need?
- What truly matters?
- What do I do next?
Faced with confusion, sadness, anger, even shame, we can turn away—numb out, push through, pretend we’re fine.
Or…
We can be still.
Present to what’s happening.
Present to ourselves.
Present to something deeper moving through it all.
And in that presence, something unexpected begins to emerge:
- A deeper, more grounded sense of who we are.
- Clarity
- Meaning
Sit beside me, and together we’ll explore how to:
- See your life from a wider lens—and uncover meaning in what you’re going through.
- Reconnect with and express your deeper, more authentic self.
- Grow in compassion—for yourself and others.
- Find a sense of peace, even when nothing feels resolved.

A Personal Note from Randy
I know what it’s like to be stuck in that in-between space—what I call “the belly of the whale.”
Coming out, divorce, a devasting bike accident, the state of the world today…
In an instant, everything changes.
I am someone who likes to solve, act, and move speedily forward.
But life kept demanding something different:
Patience. Trust. Surrender.
So I sat.
I waited.
I listened.
Life as I knew it is gone.
And strangely… that’s okay.
Because I’ve come to trust
that even here—especially here—
new life is quietly being formed,
and all shall be well; all shall be well.
One-on-One
This isn’t therapy. It’s a blend of coaching and spiritual direction—designed to help you navigate an important transition with clarity, depth, and purpose.
Together, we explore the psychological and the spiritual to uncover your Soul Print—a living map of who you are and how you’re here to contribute.
Like a fingerprint, your Soul Print reflects your unique way of being and making a difference in the world. It may include:
- Your core strengths and gifts
- Defining attributes and patterns
- Core values
- Key roles and archetypes you embody
- Stumbling blocks that may be holding you back
- What energizes you—and what depletes you
- Your personal theology or spiritual framework
- Your sense of calling
We’ll also identify practical ways to:
- Put what matters most, first
- Cultivate inner peace—regardless of external circumstances
- Deepen compassion for yourself and others
- Strengthen your connection to inner guidance
- Bring more clarity, passion and purpose into your life
What is a Soul Print?
A Soul Print isn’t something you can hold in your hands—it’s something you experience.
It’s a brief, often fleeting, encounter with the Divine—a moment infused with joy, where you feel fully loved, deeply whole, and intimately connected to all of creation. These moments leave an imprint. They become inner markers you can return to—reminders of who you truly are.
Soul Print experiences don’t have to be dramatic or life-altering. They’re not always “Road to Damascus” moments—though those do happen. I’ve known people who’ve experienced profound states of unity in extraordinary settings.
But more often, they’re quiet.
In my own life, they’ve come in simple, sacred ways—like standing in awe of a sunrise during a morning walk along the beach. In those moments, I’ve felt something unmistakable…as if God’s hand were gently resting on my back. It’s a feeling I return to often—a reminder that I am never alone.
Many of the most powerful Soul Print experiences arise when we feel truly seen—when we are known, understood, and loved just as we are. I’ve been fortunate to receive that kind of presence from two mentors in my life. It changed me. And now, it’s what I offer to others.
In discovering your Soul Print, we’ll name and explore the essential elements of your authentic self—your gifts, your strengths, your core values, and your deepest passions. That clarity matters.
But even more than that, my hope is this:
That you come to see your own beauty, your inherent wholeness, and the quiet greatness within you—reflected back through a compassionate, attuned presence.
And if you can’t fully receive that yet, that’s okay.
I’ll hold that knowing for you…until you can.
The Ideal Client
This work is for people in transition who sense that their current path is no longer fully aligned with who they are becoming.
You likely consider yourself spiritual (though not necessarily religious). While my background is rooted in Christianity—I identify as a Progressive Christian—I honor all traditions as expressions of the same underlying divine reality.
You value self-awareness and have already done some inner work—through therapy, coaching, or your own study of personal growth and spiritual development.
How I Work
In order to provide a high level of support I usually limit the number of private clients to two or three at a given time. Most clients work with me over four, one-hour sessions by phone. Between sessions, you can expect up to an hour of homework. Each week, I provide a written summary which will become your “Soul Print.”
Clients are expected to totally commit to the process, including keeping all appointments, showing up on time, and completing homework assignments by agreed-upon deadlines.
There is no fee, but I do ask that you “play it forward” in a way that feels meaningful to you.

Our Shared Philosophy
The times that undo us… are often the times that remake us.
What we call breakdown can be break-through.
Again and again, life invites us to become more fully ourselves—
to return to what is most true, most alive, most essential within us.
Not by escaping difficulty,
but by meeting it.
When we can gently say “yes” to our lives as they are—
even in the hard places—
we begin to discover something steady underneath it all:
- A quiet center.
- A deeper presence.
- A sense that we are not alone.
Our Commitments
This is what makes the space work:
- Everyone is welcome. We honor and respect our differences.
- We listen with care. No fixing. No unsolicited advice.
- We speak from experience. No preaching—just truth.
- We hold a bigger perspective. Trusting that something meaningful may be unfolding.
Workshops
Typically, I offer several workshops throughout the year. Topics include Active Hope: Move from Overwhelm to Purpose in Uncertain Times and Aging Gracefully: Aging as Spiritual Practice. To be on our mailing list, email me at Link2Randy@gmail.com.

Program Overview
From The HeART partners with organizations that help individuals and families move into new housing after a major life transition—such as homelessness, illness, domestic upheaval, natural disaster, or other crisis. We provide a small collection of framed, original paintings to offer as housewarming gifts to those they serve.
These are more than decorative objects. Each piece is intended as a marker of transition—a tangible expression of hope, dignity, and the possibility of a new beginning.
There is no cost to the organization. Organizations may distribute in any way that best serves its clients.
Why It Matters
For those starting over, a new space can feel uncertain—temporary, unfamiliar, even empty. A single piece of original art can change that. It helps transform a space into something more than shelter—home.
Each painting offers:
- Dignity — something beautiful, meaningful, and lasting to call one’s own
- Belonging — a quiet signal that you are home now
- Hope — a reminder that even after hardship, life can hold beauty and meaning
Research shows that visual art can elevate mood, reduce stress, and support emotional well-being. But beyond research, this gesture communicates something deeper:
You are seen.
You are valued.
You are welcome here.
